Malaysian general election, 2008

Ding Kuong Hiing (BN SUPP) - He was appointed a political secretary to the Chief Minister in 2005 and is now SUPP Sarikei branch assistant secretary. He replaced the incumbent, Law Hieng Ding, SUPP deputy president, who retired after six terms as MP.

Dr. Wong Hua Seh (DAP) - a former Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate, who contested against SUPP's David Teng in 2002.

Lau Kian Chai (Independent) - Former SUPP member. He resigned from SUPP in June 2007. He's a timber businessman.

Ngu Tien Hai (Independent) - Former DAP member. He joined DAP Bintangor after the 2004 general election.

Kung Chin Chin (Independent) - Former DAP member. She lost by a slim majority of 500+ votes to David Teng in the Repok constituency in the 2006 state election.
